Good one, Roger! We get scorps all the time here. First one that got me was in the washing machine...had fallen from the ceiling while I was emptying clothes. Next time I put my hand in there, BAM! I'm not allergic, so it just felt like a red hot poker for about 10 seconds...adrenaline rush made me SO mad!!! Then, nothing...no swelling, no red mark. Weird...
I've had four stings in the 10+ years I've lived here...one happened on my thigh while crawling into bed...he skuttled under a HEAVY dresser and has never been seen again....
I'm more concerned about what is biting my feet. Everyone else is just getting a small lump, I've got large lumps turning to wheels, even Benadryl doesn't have much effect.I got some different cream from the local pharmacy that's working much better, but I still can't wear shoes. I know it's not mosquitoes, as I've had no reaction where I've been bitten by them.
I've had one experience with "sea lice" in the Caribbean before, so I wear a tight fitting rash guard and the long tight Speedo trunks. Not chiggers, most of the bites occur on the feet and up the legs. Possibly ants? There's lots of them here, very tiny
I had my first experience with sand fleas this past summer. They are in the sand ( maybe similar to sand lice ) and only bite feet and legs in the sand. Itch unbelievable !!! The welts stay for months and would itch badly off and on. I read on -line tree tea oil was great, but I couldn't find any. I used Chiggerex and that would take care of the itch for a little bit. Have you been at the beach after hot weather and rain?

You got very lucky girl. When we lived in El Paso, saw them alot. Didn't even try anything around them. Glad your OK.

Alive enough to climb the back of the box and try to hide under the hinge area. I didn't try anything to alter it's life status.
