New legs are in Earth City Missouri expected here on Wednesday. In the meantime I completely disassembled the bum landing leg and it was what I thought a stripped worm gear mech. The collar nut is worn right out, won’t even hold the worm gear itself up never mind out Cougar. I think the last big windy day in Big Bend is what did her in finally. Rig was rocking and rolling.

There was some little tricks to get it all apart, will be doing a full post and video on this repair job! I think the issue was not enough lube. Now that I see it all apart I know where I missed getting lube into during my routine maintenance.
I got plenty on the top beveled gears but not enough on the worm gear. It’s a stupid arrangement and really could use a grease port, other wise it demands a bunch of disassembly to properly lube it.
