Hey you are in our area, 40 miles around the road way and as the crow flys only 15 miles, we can see the tower from the ranch, should of let us know we could of come over and said high, Eddie has to work tomorrow night and next night. Did you get caught up in the Close Encounters of the Third Kind movie. Show it all the time. Well welcome to our area, hope you enjoy our little area of fun. Enjoy your stay. Aileen and the gang
Never had a wasp problem as long as I have lived here, but probably cause everything is blooming and all the wonderful smells, time for them to be out and about. Aileen
Hi aileen, never thought you were so close. Montana really isn’t that far away though is it. Dewey has been singing the theme song on every hike.lol love your area. We will be back. Leaving today for rapid city …. Talk soon, Marsha ps no wasps.
Well Montana is still 30 miles from us, but we are in Wyoming. Well Rapid City is still only a 150 miles from us. Well have a good time. Aileen and the gang
Hi George, hope you get this I’m getting some kind of fatal error message. No dogs are allowed on trails, federal monument or parks I don’t think any of them allow dogs. The campground is dog friendly. There is a KOA just at the entrance of the park, for another camping option. Have fun visiting this wonderful place.
We watched the movie Sunday night on TCM. First time Lola has every seen it in its entirety. We look forward to a pic of it that close too. It’s such a cool peak.

It’s much more impressive close up, make sure you do the trail around the base. There are a bunch of fallen basalt columns along the trail, when you see the size of these things, it really gives you a sense of scale of what you are looking at.
Yeah that is the movie that made us famous in our little corner of the globe, wasnt quite so touresty, but things happen, best time for us to go is in the fall, the koa is a nice place also. Aileen
Nice photo!
How are the wasps? Last time we were there, they were everywhere and into everything. Had to eat inside to keep them out of supper.
