Updated photos of the modifications including one of the Beast itself.
Still need to clean up the wiring in the coach itself. I need to drill one additional hole through the floor into the new battery compartment so I can feed wires for a remote switch to the inverters I’ll be installing as well as the 120 volt feeds from the inverters into the…[Read more]

Finally finished all the wiring and the system is producing power. Didn’t have a chance to take many pictures before I had to leave so I’ll get some more when I go back up North this weekend. Completed all the wiring in the coach on Sunday night and the exterior wiring between morning and evening hunts. I had to scramble to finish up the conduit…

Michael posted an update 3 weeks, 6 days agoThe coach battery side of things are all wired and working. Disconnect box, Solar Controller, 100 amp fuse and 60 amp circuit breaker as well multiple bus bars are all installed and wired. All I have left is to connect the battery monitor and then run the wiring and connect the solar panels. I’m taking the RV up this weekend hunting and hope to…

Hi Michael, you might try #14×2″ SS screws. They worked better for me on our OSB plywood roof and have bigger threads with more pitch to them and hold better then a #12. Panels look real nice, love the pictures!
Have fun and Happy Trails!!! -
I removed the #12 x 1.5″ screws and replaced them with #14 x 2″. Those worked great Thanks Eddie.

Your welcome Michael, glad it worked for you.
Happy Trails!!! -
If in need call Fast Eddie, he’ll figure it out.

Nice Michael! Is your solar panels 140 watt Kyocera KD140SX-UFBS?
Next time you can cut the aluminum angle with a regular wood circular “Chop” or “Radial Arm” saw. Just go slow like your cutting hard woods, and it won’t mess up your C-blade. I have been using the same blade in my chop saw cutting aluminum stock and also wood for our RV for 3-years…[Read more] -
Yes they are Kyocera KD140SX-UFBS’s. I would love to have used a chop saw but I don’t have one… yet.
The sabre saw and a handheld drill aren’t bad just a bit slower than using something like a chopsaw and drill press. If I were to do this again I’d probably create a jig for both the drilling and and cutting of parts. I think half the time was…[Read more] -
We have (3)- Kyocera KD140SX-UFBS’s and (2)-Npower 150 watt on our roof. In hindsight I would gone all Kyocera’s. Your going to love them, thay are one of the best panels made. LolaandRush also have (4) on their roof and love the output of the panels and HD construction. How will you run your solar power wires down, & are you running 12 volt P…[Read more]

Hi Michael, you are going to love your new Progressive Dynamics PD9270C Power Converter. We have had ours for at least 5-years now and love it, love it!!! It will show its true “Boondocking” potential when you are charging your battery bank with a generator on a bad rain filed days. Be looking for more of your pictures! Keep up the good…[Read more]

Eddie, I’m very impressed by your RV mods. So much so I’m adding 4 140W panels to my RV and adding 4 more 6 volt GC2 golf cart batteries as additional storage for a total of approx 1200 amp hours of storage. My configuration is a bit simpler than yours but I’m using many of the same components your did.
I do have a couple of questions concerning…[Read more]

Nice job! Love the way you have labeled all the photos, look forward to the PDF.
I’m going to be upgrading my little system soon. Got my eye on a Trimetric monitor as well.
