You’ll get stretches of freezing weather and sometimes snow but mostly wind and rain and temps in the 5-10 range most of the winter. A big problem is fighting condensation in the trailer.

Some photos from our day trip down the California coast on Highway 1 in the Big Sur area. The spring scenery was amazing, all the wildflowers were in bloom.
We stopped off for lunch at a restaurant called Nepenthe perched up on a cliff with a fantastic view and great food.

We have a BCAA card with RV Plus coverage and find it is just as good. Gives 10% discounts on all sorts of stuff. It’s reciprocated by AAA in the USA.
Good Sam is good if you plan to shop a lot at Camping World as it gives you a discount there.-

Maybe Ray can chime in on this one. In your travels, boon docking, in out of the way locations, that you would get to with a 4×4, what in your opinion is the max length of a 5th wheel, to be going? Fifth wheels are not ideal for 4×4 roads that’s for sure!
Tail drag will be a fact of life, our 30 footer drags occasionally even in city streets, you may want to attach some caster wheels back there.
The biggest problem will be the bed rail clearance, since a 4×4 truck sits so high, you may have to lift the trailer up off the axles to gain more…[Read more]-
