RV Newbies 2 months ago · updated 1 month agoHi there! We just bought a 32′ travel trailer after owning a tent trailer for 15 years and planning on taking some extended trips in the near future. What is the best/cheapest option for getting internet while on the road?

RV Newbies 3 months, 1 week ago · updated 1 month, 1 week agoWe just are in the process of renovation an old 1985 Champion Class B. It has an old antenna on it and I am wondering what we need to do to transfer over to digital TV. Also what do most people do about Internet access?

I saw an add on digital aerial for existing RV antennas. I think it was on Amazon. Didn’t pay much attention because I think my rig will come with a Digital Antenna.

Thank you.

If it is the old batwing style Winegard antenna you can buy an add-on digital antenna. Easy to install, no tools needed, just clips on. – http://amzn.to/1Mo82ht It’s what we use and gets pretty good reception for digital and HD channels.

Thank you, we don’t have a manual for our RV and we’re just trying to figure everything as we go

For each new camping location, you’ll have to rescan for the local “over the air” channels. You go into the TV menu and look for channel scanning and pick the Antenna option and the TV will scan the airwaves and program in the available stations.
You also have to make sure to have the antenna amplifier turned on. It’s usually a little button…[Read more]-
I’ve found this site to be useful, especially in fringe reception areas. Enter your GPS coordinates, and it returns exact pointing coordinates and expected signal strength.

RV Newbies 1 month, 2 weeks ago · updated 1 month, 2 weeks agoI know that you need to perform maintenance on your 5th wheel tires. I do check air pressure, lube wheel bearings and torque the lugs. But do you also need to rotate the tires from front to back? Do you need to get them balanced? If so how often?

RV Newbies 2 months, 2 weeks ago · updated 2 months, 1 week agoWe bought a 33′ Hitchhiker II 2000 about a month ago while in Lake Havasu City. We’ve moved it to Silver View RV resort in Bullhead city and put it in storage until we can go back next Nov. This will be our first experience and it’s a test to see if we like RVing as much as we think we will. We are so excited. I’ve joined this site because Ray has…[Read more]

We are using Verizon at time and the part WIFI. I do have Norton Internet Security installed on all my computers. The SC and GA state parks have internet at the camp store only.
Thanks Dan!
We have AT&T. I’ll stop by their store to get some info.
Sounds like we need a cellular booster too.
No wifi at all in any of the WA state parks, tho they should for $45/night!
We just took a trip around 17 states from NC to Montana and south then back across on I-10 then back up from La. We used our hot spot on our IPhone and IPad with our Verizon data plan. We found out if you play on the Internet for hrs u need a lot of data. We have 12 gig and had to lighten up on usage at the tail end of our month. But it worked…[Read more]
Good info!
Do you ever stream movies, etc?
Only when we are near Wi-Fi.
Gotcha. Thanks!
