On our way home to San Diego from Victoria, BC we found a very nice place for an overnight parking spot in Eugen, OR. The place is called the Valley River Center. Upon arrival we were met by a security car that registered us and checked that we met the minimum requirements, namely fully self contained. There were about a dozen other RVs there that…[Read more]
@raytronx Ray, we are in line to board the ferry to Vancouver Island today. Any recommendations on things to see?

Are you landing in Victoria? If so the inner harbor area is great and also Butchart Gardens – http://www.loveyourrv.com/vancouver-island-rv-trip-victorias-inner-harbour/ http://www.loveyourrv.com/rv-trip-victoria-bc-visiting-butchart-gardens/

Thanks Ray, sounds interesting. What is the availability of FREE WiFi. Are there the usual places like McDonalds and Walmart etc.
-
Yup and also Starbucks and Tim Hortons a popular coffee shop found everywhere.
I’m in Victoria right now for the next 5 days looking after my sister’s place while they are on vacation. If you want to drop by for more info on the Island feel free. I can PM you the address.-
Sure, that would be cool.

The road was OK, street cars had no problem. But you are looking at about 5 miles of graded gravel and dirt road with some areas of washboard once you leave the highway . We just drove very slowly and had no trouble. There was a Class A and a 5th wheel camped out there. I’d only be concerned if there has been a recent heavy rain.
