    Hi everyone,

I live in Virginia and will be RVing in this general area for a while. Has anybody had any experience Boondocking on the East Coast?  What resources have you used to find sites?

    Thanks!

    Patty

:bye:   It’s tough to find boondocking in the east as most land is private but check out these links.

These are pay sites that I don’t use myself, but others have recommended

I’m also looking for places on the East coast and I live in Northern Va. One I can recommend is the George Washington/Thomas Jefferson National Forest. I was just there Friday into Saturday. I found a deserted gravel road and a pull-off near an old trail head. Not one human was near me for the entire time. No noises but forest noises. Took my 2 dogs and it was sooo nice. That forest spans several States so you can explore there for a long time. You can boondock anywhere that’s not marked otherwise.

I don’t know what part of the east coast you are looking at but I have never had issues with parking lots of malls in Massachusetts. Not that I prefer that a place to stay but have when in a pickle. And there are some, though limited, rest areas. Rhode Island states you can stay overnight in rest areas but don’t suggest it. Connecticut is tough. I’ve used a Welcome Center rest area. Good luck!

As we were packing up to leave passport America rally here at Tallahassee a fellow RV came up to our lone campsite.  The rally was over Wed, we chose an extended stay at the fairgrounds, he was inquiring about the boondocking rally that begins here Sunday sponsored by RV-dream. We contacted Howard and lo and behold he and  3 others are setup at the front of the fair grounds. We thought  they were like us extended stay.   Anyone near Tallahassee Fla. interested in a week long boondocking rally come on over or give us a call.  2523416779.   Sounds like fun.

We are retired as of July 1st. 2015.

Small world! We’re members of the RV-Dreams.com community. Howard and Linda put on excellent educational and boondocking rallies several times a year for those interested in full timing. I wish that we would have attended one of these before we hit the road. They are a lot of fun and we’ve met some fabulous people that are now life long friends. They are also highly sought after by the RV Industry to put on seminars at RV Shows throughout the U.S.
This year in Quartzsite we’ve had an RV Dreamers community on and off of up to 50! Most were from the east that we westerners have never met. Lots of laughs!

    Cheers!
