Anyone else winter camping, despite the weather?

You bet, got our snow shovel, parka and mitts. The rv’s are all decorated and lit up, and it’s soon to be Christmas!

Tried that in Wyoming twice, went through a lot of propane. Once in our tag a long and then in this. Last winter it dropped in temp so fast that it cracked the underpenning of our camper, where the fifth wheel hookup is that now we look like we carry a spider web with us. So now it is down to the desert where it is warmer. Just for the winter,…[Read more]

In Canada, we use AVIVA for RV Insurance and Contents Coverage. We have electronics, camera gear and hubby’s tools also. We are full time, so they charge a 25% surcharge on top. For the year, it runs $500 plus.

I currently live in a small town in Alberta and my boyfriend resides in Saskatchewan. We have decided to head West to Vancouver Island! We are very excited (and nervous). I love reading all your posts, you all…[Read more]

We use BCAA travel medical, get a discount because we also have BCAA roadside, we get all the AAA discounts in the US with it too.
I think we pay about $350-400 each for 6 months with a $300 deductible. Luckily we have never used it.
But recently someone recommended http://www.medipac.com/ for snowbird insurance.
This is the problem Ray, I have never had a claim after spending 1000’s of dollars, you have never had a claim, so how do either of us know if we are really covered well?? I would love to hear from somebody that has had a claim and what the process was, you hear horror stories on CBC about denied claims, it scares us
We’ve used TD Insurance, added to our plan. We’ve also bought Sam’s RV insurance when travelling through the USA.
Have some friends that live in that area, where do you come across the boarder at.They always did in Montana. Aileen and the gang
