    Turpentine will remove sap.

You might also experiment with WD-40 but be careful as it will make the roof slippery.  Maybe a small patch then wash with soap (Dawn seems to be the rave) and water and rinse.  I haven’t tried it and don’t know how WD-40 will affect the roof but I have been surprised what WD-40 works on.

I’m sure others will have b…[Read more]

I am curious what is causing the spots.  Any idea?

  • Profile picture of George

Well, it wasn’t the wiper motor.  Turns out it was a fuse; not THAT fuse, another one!  I will describe briefly in case someone has a similar problem.  I got both the schematic for the coach side (from Fleetwood) and from the chassis (Ford).  The problem is that there is nothing that describes where the hookups between the two are on the rig.  Th…[Read more]

Yeah Brandi,  We used to do something like this when tent camping.  Except we just used on side for the logs and rocks for the ramp.  Two sides like this one would probably give you a bigger flame.  I don’t know that you would want to do this while sleeping in an RV though.

    Great Idea Ray.

We got the rig serviced and may try a shake down next week.

George started the topic Wiper Motor Bench test in the forum Ask for Help 4 months ago

Anyone know how to bench test a wiper motor?

I am not sure exactly what happened but on my 2013 Fleetwood Storm class A, when using the wipers something went wacky with the passengers wiper running straight down wedging between the license and bumper, drivers side was straight up (as it should have been).   I removed the wiper arms and checked…[Read more]

Never.  I prefer direct communication (one on one).  If I have something that would be helpful I will share that.

…then there was this guy who I seriously could use a much bigger trailer (preferably painted in OD).

  • Profile picture of George

Went to Reno yesterday and saw how this guy solved the wheel chair to the RV problem.  Was wondering how he got all that into his trailer until I walked around front and saw his diamond plate trailer for hauling it.  (Later I saw his Pick Up which was all diamond plate from the cab back.)

Yep, did that this morning — hopefully no one noticed.

@lolaandrush I thought we already were friends, sorry I missed that.

Rush,  I haven’t either but my last rig a Terra had untinted windows which let a lot of light in. And privacy curtains.  Our new rig Storm has tinted windows which work great for privacy during the day but greatly reduce the light coming in so the interior seems dark by comparison.

Why are you wanting tinted windows?

  • Profile picture of George

That looks like a good one Ray.

Along the same lines (ladders), our Storm does not have an attached ladder to get onto the roof.  I bought this collapsible one for that purpose, as well as high cleaning.  I am real happy with it, very sturdy and packs nice.  The prices for these are all over the place; this is the cheapest one and seems to be of…[Read more]

The good news is the stain comes out.  The bad news I don’t remember what finally did it for me.  Like you I just started going through everything in the laundry room but finally I hit one something.  I am pretty sure I used a bathroom cleaner that touts stain removal.  I am thinking it was Kaboom.  It completely removed that stain without noti…[Read more]

Thanks, I just always wonder anyway.

My wife and I did a 9 year stint in Eureka/Arcata.

Try letting it settle as Ray suggests.  The aerator on the tap will often cause that.  If you have bleached the system it should be sterile but if that is still a concern you can have a water lab test it for $20 or so.  You will need to use their bottle.

A couple of weeks ago we had to make a run to Chico.  Decided to take Deer Creek (Hiway 32)  down.  I have driven it many times in a car but first in the MH.  It went ok but was very narrow and windy and cars like to race through it.  Wife and dog weren’t fond of being tossed back and forth.

Stayed at Almond Tree RV park in town.  Small but very…[Read more]

Remember my problems with refilling the toilet bowl the I was having?  No where did see instructions or did the Rep know just to pull UP on the handle.  Works like a charm.

I guess this Jay read the rules and decided he wouldn’t be breaking any if he took a drink.

This drippy faucet was a very popular drinking station for the campground wildlife.
