Between various friends here in Yuma we have checked out 4 RV Parks & driven out to some BLM areas & are still not sure where we would go for month’s stay next year. Each one has it’s good points, but I guess we’ll keep looking! We’re presently at the Rocking K, monthly rate is $350 +elec. but no Wi-Fi. some train noise but not bad.We find that…[Read more]

Never really could like football. I really enjoy watching curling though. My D.H. was a die-hard Calgary Stamps fan,but hasn’t watched for years.I hardly ever watch NHL, too many teams & players and the season goes on & on & on…….Guess I ‘m not a good Canuck!!
Well,we left Drumheller Valley at 1:30 Sun.Nov.23 & went as far as Helena,Mt.then to Fillmore,Utah on Mon.,then arrived here in Hurricane,Utah Tues.a.m.Went thru some snow squalls in Montana and was surprised as hit the Salt Lake City area around 4:30 p.m. & only took a 1 1/2 hr. to clear it.Nice to know we’re done with the long jaunts now! Happy…[Read more]

Wow, that is some long days, glad you made it safe and sound. Enjoy some turkey now!
-
Thanks. Our Thanksgiving was in October.I cooked turkey & taught my grandsons how to make their own cornfritters before we left!
-
Ours was too, but it’s a good excuse for more turkey! hehe
Cornfritters sound interesting, how do you make them?-
Basically a fritter batter recipe with cream style corn instead of the milk:easy & the grandkids love them. The only downfall is they require deep fryer to cook!

Linda, We are coming to Hurricane on January 15th staying at Willow Wind RV Park where are you staying?
-
Wi-Fi is being goofy. We’re at Zion RV .We stayed at WillowWind RV last year (April) & liked it. Grassy & trees, paved pads. Within easy walking distance to grocery, drugstore & restaurants and is right off the Highway. We just like to try new places. Heading S. Tuesday.

Ah,ladies you give me courage. We started to down size a year ago and it seems like a never ending process. Each time we go in our R.V. I think what do I miss & what do I really need. Memories I’ll always keep in my heart, but I think we are fortunate as D.H. & I have that choice to downsize at our pace rather than no choice. Lots less to dust…[Read more]
I’m not computer savvy; hell, I don’t even have a cell phone( hubby has 2). I still enjoy the feel of a real book in my hands to give you an idea. I’m still learning the ins & outs of this website so I may be pokey in responding to some posts. Hoping to leave Drumheller,Ab.-Monday & plan on travelling Hwy.2 S.to the U.S. border then on to I-15 to…[Read more]

This will be our 3rd. trip south as Canadian snowbirds. We’re hoping to leave Drumheller,Alberta toward the end of November. So far we have been doing a mix of boondocking & staying in R.V. parks, we find it to be a good mix. My husband (Roy) always says if we don’t like the weather in one area we’ll just move to another, which works for us!…[Read more]

Thanks for joining us Linda, we are about to head out on our 4th year from Vancouver Island. Where do you usually spend your time down south. We usually go to the south west but have been to the east coast, Florida and the gulf coast in our first year, but prefer the wide open desert.
-
the first time down we went to South Padre Island, then wandered back. Last time we stuck mainly to Arizona.seem to have hit certain areas all 3 times & will again.Jan.-Quartzite boondocking,Feb. Lake Havasu City & Phoenix area in March. We have Florida on the agenda when we go full-time.I agree tho-the desert can’t be beat.
