So we are thinking of boondocking next Winter. we want to have out lawn chairs and a dog exercise pen. Is it safe to leave out while a person runs out or does one have to pack up all their things each time they go out?

We have also never had a problem leaving out or chairs, etc. Only thing I  lock up is the generator. Most thieves are going to be in cities where there is lots of things to steal and hiding places. Out in the boonies it’s too easy for them to get observed, especially in the open desert, they stand out. RVers are pretty good at watching out for each other.

I actually feel less secure in a big fancy RV resort. We go to one in Palm Springs and last visit we were warned by the gate guard to lock up our stuff as they had problems with stuff going missing.

We don’t boondock to much most of our trips now are at resort or rv parks I usually lock my stuff up if going somewhere I guess its from living in the big city. I figure don’t temp someone bye leaving it out. I think if I where out in the middle of nowhere I would leave things out and would think twice about it.

We agree with Ray.  We haven’t had anything stolen and most folks are very helpful at the camp grounds we have been to.

We also agree with Ray. In almost 41/2 years on the road we have never had a theft while boon docking.

I have heard of generators going missing at Quartzsite but I believe these are old rumors.

    Safe travels

unfortunately we won’t be travelling again till Spring.

Hubby pretty sure he’ll be retiring next Fall and we can get away from this snow!
