    If you have already downloaded my free eBook “Roughing it Smoothly” (raywhyte.ca) you will have read the attached story. I just wanted to share a very special time in my camping experience and a shout out of encouragement to all of those dealing with their disability. We have lost contact with Wayne and Kaye and would dearly like to see them…

      Excellent article. Thanks for sharing. All those devices are really helpful but the best accommodation come from friends and family like you.

    Rob Reighter got me drooling over his potato skins, the only thing I would add is sour cream.

    If you like potato chips, and who doesn’t?  You got to try this, I swear you got to try this before you can judge it.
    It’s a POTATO CHIP SANDWICH.
    Two slices of white bread, lots of butter on each slice, this is important, helps the chips slide down.…[Read more]

    When an old Scotsman (or a young one for that matter) can save a buck, it’s a good day. I keep an electric hot plate tucked away in a bin. When we are plugged in, the landlord is paying to cook my meals. The propane savings can add up, especially for the snowbirds that are parked for a long period of time. Mine cost me $29.00 at Canadian Tire.

    Melody, your reply touched my heart, we become so attached to our dogs, it is heartbreaking when they leave us. All dog owners know what I mean. It prompted me to write this tribute
    The Rescue
    You have no idea how much we care
    My wordless friend with so much hair
    Close to death at another’s hand
    For that to happen we would not stand.

    Ya and them teeth are sharp too, soon after we got him I tried to take a chew stick away and came close to being an amputee.  He loves me now though, once he figured out who was buying the grub.

    Thanks Melody;
    We had just rescued the little pooch Paco.  He is from San Bernardino and Miss Lily is from L.A.  We had just got Paco as a brother for Lily and they were trying to establish who was top dog for lap time.  They were both on death row.  I encourage anyone looking for a pooch to check out their local rescue agencies and give an…[Read more]

    Thanks to everyone for posting the nice comments about our TV tray dog bed. Miss Lily and Paco are great travelers, now they are even more comfortable.  Paco, that’s the little guy, is part Vampire so you don’t want to mess with him.

    Roger, I’m glad you are getting some ideas. On the subject of hidden unused cubby holes, I haven’t been in an RV that I can’t find some area not being used. That wasted space can sure come in handy.
