Last year Cindy and I went to Glacier. We left the day after Father’s Day. Took a week or so drifting along before getting to Hungry Horse, MT where we stayed at Mountain Meadow RV Park. It was great and the staff fantastic. The owner “Flip” cant be beat and all the staff is fantastic. I would highly recommend this place and will stay there…[Read more]
First I’d like to thank Ray for suggesting the KOA at the base of Devils Tower! And, just a follow up on my post of a few weeks past. We’ve firmed up that after leaving Rapid City SD we will staying around Billings MT for a nite or two. Then north to Cut Throat MT for a nite. After that it will be west on hwy 2 to Hungry Horse MT (just off the…[Read more]
Took LeeAnn out for our 1st camp of the season last weekend and had a great time. Other than finding out that I needed to re-think the packing order of our gear, everything went off without a hitch. LeeAnn’s new pull toy (our ’14 Dodge Durango) did a great job. Only issue here was minor and identified that I need to change the setup of the WDH…[Read more]

In the pass thru I use clear totes. Also some hooks for hanging some of the hardware up out of the way (rubber mallet, shepard hooks, scissor jack wrench, etc.). On the way there the plan is to not drive more than 300 miles per day. 1st stop will be Onawa Iowa, staying at On-Ur-Wa trailer park. Reason why is because the wife and I like Dairy Queen and there is one a couple of…[Read more]

Sounds like a fun trip, be sure to share your highlights!
Wow, your going to see some of the prettiest mountain country there is. Have a great and safe trip.
I’d second Ray’s recommendation of Devil’s Tower KOA. I wonder if they still show “Close Encounters” every night?
Yes thay still show that movie! The lady that owns that KOA is a frend of my wifes family (Driskill) her husbend died about 2 years ago, verry nice guy.I did HVAC/plumbing work for him before we wan’t out of busness in 2008.
Wow, how cool is that? Sit in the shadow of Devil’s Tower and watch Close Encounters… I’m putting this on my bucket list for sure.
Be sure to add an extra SD card to the camera. We will want oodles of pics!
Hi Norma, Yep lots of extra space on the SD card needed! If your out there this summer/fall we will be at the Cayuse ranch (about 15 miles west of DT.) hopfuly in july or sooner. Aileen’s family started the first Spanish Mustang Regstry in1957,and the ranch is the foundation stock for the Spanish mustang horse. Lots of free-range Mustang bans, and…[Read more]
