Ray and Maria posted an update 3 days, 13 hours agoWe stayed at the Porto Bodega Marina & RV Park for spring break. We checked out the Bodega Bay beach and the Bodega Bay Dunes beach. It was a little windy at times but very nice overall.

I do use Handbrake to ripe the DVD’s to my hard drive. I also use other tools when Handbrake doesn’t work. Sometime you have to play with a few to get the DVD/BlueRay to copy over. I then use Handbrake to convert the Video to .m4v and add subtitles if need be. Subtitles are usually the biggest pain since I only want to foreign audio to be embedded…[Read more]

So to add a bit more on my setup. You can do this with just about any computer as long as it has enough Hard Drive space, RAM and CPU Power. CPU power comes into play if the video has to be transcoded (converted) to an appropriate format for whatever you are watching it on. Example and iPad vs a TV etc. The cool thing is that you can actually…[Read more]

Wonderful pictures of the kids! Are you guys fulltiming with 2-kids? In a 27′ Class-C?
-
Actually we have 3 kids but no we are not full timing. Maybe in a few years when we sell our house and buy property to build our own place.
-
Good deal!! Aileen, Laura (6-1/2), And myself have been fulltiming for 5-1/2 years in our 40′ Keystone Sprinter Copper Canyon.
I asked Laura several times if we needed to go back to a stick built home and I get a very quick “NO”! “THIS IS OUR HOME,DAD!!!!”
Gotta love the kid!
Happy Trails!!! -
Little Ray (5) would love to just live in the RV. He is always asking about when we are going in the RV again. Lauren (14) is a typical teenager and probably would be ok as long as it didn’t interfere with her teen lifestyle. Liam (15months) is happy no matter what

Is this really March 2015 in Yosemite??
-
Ray- Yes we just got back yesterday from our trip.
-
Wow, awesome! looks so warm and no snow! I’ve heard of years where the Glacier Point drive was still closed on Memorial Day. doesn’t bode well for the CA drought issue though..
-
Going to be a bad year for sure. Reason we went early in the season.

I need to get off my butt and put together a little how-to. My setup has worked really well so far bothe the wireless setup and the way we stream TV/Movies to any device on our wireless (Roku connected to he TV, Tablets, Phones, and laptop)
We will be doing a cross country trip this summer
Multi stop trip. First leg from Lincoln o Hemingway will be a quickly as possible and we will most likely not do any site seeing since the goal is to pickup my father-in-law so he can see the country (he might not be back again due to his age and health)
Lincoln CA – home base

Yes and there is a tour service that will take you around DC.
We will be taking on of the 1 day tour packages and probably take the Metro in to specific places we want to explore.

I know it’s a lot of work but the benefit of having a collection available anywhere you go is well worth the work.

I would use MP4 format, works on more platforms than the wmv which is a Microsoft format. I use the m4v format to stream to my Roku.

The main reason I did the conversion to digital was that I wanted to be able to watch any of the videos in my collection without having to dig through a bunch of DVD cases or folders. I found that I had some duplicates, must have bought the second copy after forgetting I had the first.
If i get nostalgic I can watch an old movie (like watching…[Read more]

Here is a good guide to ripping a DVD so you can stream or play on another device. Key thing to remember is that these files will be big so you will need a lot of space depending on how many you convert. I have a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device with lots of space (7x4TB drives). My current collection takes up about 10 Terabytes of space out…[Read more]

Us too, when we remod that side of the camper might have to be something we look into also. Nice work Aileen and the gang
Have had any problems with the tiles coming loose? I want to install these in my trailer but a friend put these tiles from Home Depot in his trailer a couple of weeks ago and they’re starting to come off. Just wondering what your experience was like.
We had the ones by the stove on for over 6 months without any peeling.
Beautiful bachsplash i Luv it! I just showed hubby your pics and he had a a tip for rick who was asking about if they get loose. We plan on remodelling a 5th wheel not to far down the road so i am always looking for ideas. Hubby suggests installing Hardibacker to the wall and then tiling onto that with a cement thinset. Hardibacker is a concrete…[Read more]
