Boondockers 1 week, 3 days ago · updated 20 hours, 36 minutes agoHere’s a thought for those who like to boondock. We boondock most of the time. In AZ we spent 4-months in Tucson and not one day in a campground. We find that as our trail crisscrosses on itself we end up in some of the same cities we had stayed in before. But where did we stay? Here is the solution. We made a tic box with 3×5 cards city name at…[Read more]

Boondockers 1 week, 2 days agoWe spent the last three nights at Costco in three different towns. Each welcomed us and gave clear directions as to where we ought to park. In the morning i make it a practice to call the store and thank the manager for allowing us to stay. It only takes a minute and if it makes the manager more froiendly toward RVers then time well…[Read more]
Here we are in Salem OR visiting with one grandson. Spent a couple of days in Albany OR visiting with our other grandson and the first great-grandchild ever!

Business on the road is good. Good enough so I can work on a new website (well, I’m not doing it, but it is getting done). And I have added a feature to my old website. Y0ou can now book an appointment on the site. This makes it much more manageable for my clients.
Check it out here: http://gr8-hypnosis.com/asqup.html

New blog, nothing but following the windshield at https://macysroadtravels.wordpress.com.
Interesting tidbit, we met some folks in Tucson AZ made friends, visited and said our goodbyes. Two months later we happened upon the same couple in Coos Bay OR! Enjoyed their company again. Who knows where the road will lead! Or who you will meet again. We…[Read more]

I just wrote a blog about our workamper experience. This is our third in three years. The first was a disaster, the second fun and profitable and this one may be a keeper because we can travel and work without being tied to one place for a season.
Our WK Experience
Just posted a new blog at https://macysroadtravels.wordpress.com/2015/07/01/working-on-the-road/

Jim & Loni started the topic Hammock and stand in the forum Promotions / Commercial stuff 5 months, 3 weeks ago
Okay, I got it because I thought it would be cool to lay around the camp and relax in a hammock. Only problem is that we boondock most of the time (3 months Boondocking 4 days in a campground) then its on the road again. We don’t seem to stay put long enough to warrant carrying it with us. So, like comfy shoes that aren’t what you need, it’s time…[Read more]

@wanderinggypsy That policy is assuming that you have a dwelling and that theft will be covered under that policy. Not good, the dwelling policy has too high a deductible. The other side is that the contents (clothing, books, anything not a part of the rig by attachment are covered by the lower deductible, but the maximum coverage is usually about…[Read more]

I told them their was no insurance on my home. I have $20,000 replaceable insurance for the RV and all my belongings inside the RV but they said it isn’t covered for theft that I need a separate “renters” policy for that type of coverage, grrrrr.
$100 isn’t a low windshield deductible? It costs $44 per yr.
Right now I’m jumping for joy just over…[Read more]

I will have to change my address, again, in the near future as my insurance yrly bill has greatly increased instead of decreasing and it is apx $1,300 per yr, yikes!

We stayed in a very nice RV park in Needles CA for three nights. This is the first time in a park in three months. Now I remember all the reasons why we boondock! NO R-R-R (Rules, Regulations, and Restrictions). Okay, it was nice to leave the grey water open and not worry about the holding tank getting too full before we were ready to dump.…[Read more]
@wanderinggypsy Okay, you’ve gotten a lot of responses to your insurance question, and you’v gone through oall of them picking out what you think will work. Here is a check list:
1) Do you cover Full-timers?
2) What is your limit on comprehensive? (Comp is more important than collision because it is usually the side with the most claims and…[Read more]

Hello Jim and Loni,
It has been a hectic week. The RV is finally properly insured, registered and titled. Only needs a safety inspection and I need to figure out all the dials, switches and tire levers. Trying to find a class but it has been very difficult.
I have good insurance but forgot abt window and that is now added on for $44 a yr. Thanks…[Read more]-
“Garage address” is our mail forwarding service in Madison SD. Since we are FT there is no time that the rig is “garaged,” but if the insurance company asks then we use the street address of the forwarding service. We are very up front about it, but let the agent know that it isn’t garaged anywhere. Then they might ask you to let them know when…[Read more]

Maybe my insurance isn’t right Jim. I don’t have the paperwork yet but I believe my comp is 100/300/100. No good?
I am with Progressive. I had no idea you could use the SD mail forwarding address as “garaged”. I have spoken to 3 ppl thus far and I tell them that I will be on the road but they insist upon a garage address and how long it is going…[Read more]

Great idea!! I have a journal and have been posting stuff every day of our new journey living full time in our RV. I like your idea for when we start moving around,…[Read more]
