Just a little tip for the RVing Newbies out there, it is very important to make sure the tires on your RV aren’t too old. RV’s are much heavier than cars and blowouts can be dangerous. Even if the tire looks great it could be rotted inside. If older that 6-7 years its time to change them. Check your tires date codes - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=11

When I purchased my class a dealer was boasting oh the tires are great look at all the thread. The wife and I talked and we decided to deal a lower cost to purchase new tires. After the purchase went to the truckstop to buy tires and they told me they were 9 years old.  Sure glad we went on that gutt entuition.  Month later we took off  to cali and half way there a pick up blew a steering tire in front of us. Scared the panties off me as we watched that truck go for one heck of a ride from one side of the freeway to the other and end up backwards in the desert. When in doubt get them checked and always try to get in a habit to check them before your voyage.

Not only check the age of your tires. We took our rig on a short trip, camped and came home. one tire had a leaky valve stem. half way home it exploded!!!!   ripped the fender and aluminium siding, and brake wiring to shreds. Check pressures every trip!!
