Dave F. posted an update 2 hours, 38 minutes agoHi Folks,
I have been having intermittent issues with my refrigerator. Sometimes it would operate normally and sometimes it would freeze everything and not shut off regardless of whether it was in electric or propane mode. I finally narrowed it down to the thermistor which is what senses the temperature inside the cabinet. I almost ordered a new…

This snowbird has landed in a small town about 80 miles east of Long Beach for the winter. I brought along a toad behind my Class C this year as I plan to be parked until I head north again next spring.
My kids and new granddaughter live in Long Beach. It’s nice to be able to be at their house in an hour and a half. Thanksgiving will be spent…[Read more]
One of my favorite things to do when I’m back home in SE Washington State is visit one of it’s treasures only a two hour drive from me.
Wednesday I took “Lizzy” (my stealth camper) to the Columbia River Gorge (between Washington and Oregon) for a couple of days. The weather was fantastic! I hit a couple of the usual tourist stops and…

@laurentravel Lol. 18 hours huh? But who’s counting?Right?
Welcome to the golden years.
Congratulations! Enjoy!
I saw this RV on Daytona Beach this year. Unfortunately, I think you’d have to go to Germany to get one….lol.
Good luck in your search. ![]()

Here’s some info on Little Rock Arkansas and the Arkansas River Trail which runs through town and northward on both sides of the river. The scenery is varied and beautiful. Unfortunately, I neglected to capture much of the natural scenery north of town along the trail. One of the locals told me that spring was late arriving this year and…

George,
I agree. It’s great to be back after my four month odyssey to Florida and back. I had a great big smile on my face the day I crossed the Columbia River from Oregon into Washington. That’s the nature of […]

Thanks Norma. I grew up in the Rockies of Western Montana and they are my first love as far as scenery goes. However, I have come to love SE Washington almost as much.

Hi Gang,
Welp…this snowbird has landed back home again. My journeys for now will be in the northwest and I will be using my converted mini-van for those shorter jaunts. The weather here in SE Washington State is gorgeous and I am planning to hike Badger Mountain today.
Visited Boise Idaho on my way up and rode their Greenbelt Bike Path. It…[Read more]

Today’s conquest was the fourteen mile long Seminole-Wekiva Trail near Orlando. It is a gorgeous urban trail that doesn’t feel urban over most of it’s length.
As you all are probably expecting from me by now, here are some pics of fun things seen along today’s sojourn. (Sometimes I have to pinch myself to…

You are really making bike trails higher on our lists of things to do, we are going to need more time in a day! (Like maybe 50 hours) So much to do, so little time to do it! Work is really getting in the way!! Love the pics – keep ’em coming!! – B&N

Just an update on where we can park for free.
As you may or may not know, I travel the country in search of converted railroad beds to ride my bicycle on. They are referred to as “rail-trails”. Since I am usually in an area for only a day or two, I have tried to boondock at the trailheads of these trails. I never stay…

Nice to find a place that loves boondockers…definitely going to patronize businesses along that route. Thanks for the info, Dave!
-
Do you 200 miles in a day Dave? Since you said this was a 100 mile stretch. Or do you do parts of it and try to boondock along the route and try to finish the stretch? Nice to see a community that not only welcomes boondockers but will make it more appealing with hook-ups.

I usually do out and backs. 20 to 40 miles a day is about right for me these days. then I move my RV to a different spot along the trail and do the same thing.
Dave F. started the topic Holding tank odor quick and easy fix. in the forum Mods and Upgrades 8 months, 2 weeks ago
Recently I have been noticing odors getting into the coach of my class C motorhome from the grey water tank. After some research, I found that the factory vent caps actually pressurize holding tanks when driving or if there is a strong wind. This pressure then forces gases into the coach through any miniscule leaks in the waste plumbing to the s…[Read more]
Hi Gang,
Just a quick update from your wandering bicyclist.
My house sitting gig in Orlando will be over on Wednesday and I’m ready to leave the stifling heat and humidity. I’ve done a couple of rides but didn’t really see anything noteworthy other than the “Paint the Trail” artwork I mentioned before.
I have my eye on a sixty mile rail-trail…[Read more]

We’ve had a couple of hot days here in Orlando (almost 90 degrees) so I decided to head for Daytona Beach. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that vehicles are allowed ON the beach during the daytime. Classy and I spent a few hours taking in the ambiance.

I rode the Gainesville-Hawthorne bike trail yesterday. It’s a pretty nice sixteen mile long trail.
