@7-3ford We are new to the RVing and any tips/tricks are welcome. We have a new TT in our driveway but don’t want to take it out until we get a WDH. We are hoping to afford one by Memorial Day weekend. So many things to buy now for the TT. ![]()
@eddie Enjoy spending time in NC with your family. I hope your 5er is up and feeling better soon. ![]()

Andrea, I am new to this forum, but what is a WDH? I have the following:
2010 Montana 3665RE Hickory Edition, Flagship Marine RV Security System, EMS-HW50C Electrical Management System, Xantrex PROWatt 2000 Inverter, Six Trojan T-105 6 Volt Batteries, 544 Watts Uni-Solar Laminate Panels, Morningstar TS-MPPT-60 Solar Controller, Mor/Ryde Hitch…[Read more]
That is one sweet setup John.
WDH I think is Weight Distributing Hitch used for bumper pulls. Helps even out the load between truck and trailer.
Beautiful 5th wheel, John! You have a lot of nice accessories to it too. I didn’t realize that you can buy security systems for them. We have to buy a WDH, a power surge protector, water regulator, mirror extensions for our tow vehicle and a vent protector just to name a few. Whew!
all I this time I was thinking washer dryer hookups lol.
HAHAHAHAHAHA….James!!!
LOL Norma you know you were thinking the same thing as me
I ain’t admitting nothing….
Yes…we are looking for a weight distribution hitch now. Hoping to get one soon.
Hi Andera, A weight distribution hitch is a good purchace for someone with a tagalong camper. We have a 32′ Terry Resort “Tail Dragger” and a WDH helps out tremendosly!! I just love hauling a “Long-Long Trailer” down a steep, long, and curvey road down a mountain that seames to never end.
Good luck………Happy Trails!!!
LOL! That’s why we want to wait to take the TT anywhere….gotta get a WDH first. It will probably be awhile before we even get the courage to drive it out of state into the mountains.
Your 32 foot is twice as long as ours. Ha ha.
Man I wish you were neer Wyoming I have a heavy one at home you could steal from me.
Nope…..No where near Wyoming..
One of these days though we’ll do the big American Dream trip around the Country. That’s the plan anyway.
I like Florida in the winter, We are north of you now in Hatteras N.C.
You are a long way from home….. exactly what I want to be doing. LOL! The Carolinas are beautiful, although I haven’t been to their coastline before. We’ve got friends outside of Asheville.
Andrea,I was born on the outer banks N.C.& Aileen was born in Wyoming.
We live mostly in the western states but came back to help kin. Then our 5er got ill and I’ve been replacing things left and right untell she is fix and ready for the road again.
Happy Trails!!!
Can you go back to the dealer you bought the tt from and bat your eyes and get a decent deal?
LOL….They don’t sell them. We actually bought it from a liquidator camper place and got a really good deal. Still though we put out a lot of money so we now have to shop for a good deal on one. Can’t wait. We’re thinking that our maiden voyage will be to Fort Wilderness at Disney. Not going to the theme park though….just going to stay…[Read more]
try craigslist. not only look for one but maybe post an add in the wanted section that your looking for one. I have seen some for sale in our flea markets also.
Thanks for the tip….will let you guys know when we get our WDH….no, not washer dryer hookup. That makes me smile.
All I could think was why is it so important to have a washer dryer. lol …When we bought our class a in Oct wife was adamant that the coach have washer dryer combo in it. I kept thinking omg tv is more important. After our first trip in it on the way back home wife sat in co pilot chair said you can thank me later. I asked what for and she said…[Read more]
yeah a washer and a dryer is important, here in Hatteras dont have access to Eddies parents house anymore, his sister gone all day and keeps the house locked so was packing it over to a real nice neighbors but we always have lots of laundry and going to laudry mats is expensive so got a nice set for a lot birthdays, anniversaries christmases, and…[Read more]
Hope you have a great time at Fort Wilderness! We went way back in 2000 when are kids were still young. It was great and much less expensive then their Hotels!
I have heard that their campgrounds are phenomenal. And it’s only an hour and a half away from home so we won’t have to go very far for our 1st excursion in the TT.
Hay Andera, on the WDH issue we ordered ours from Camping World. You could get it shiped in if none in your area. As for seting up the hitch you normaly get good instructions and your the person using it so learning now is a good thing, not later. The bigest thing is not to over tighten your chaines and thghten thelm evenly. Ounce you figure if…[Read more]
Oh….we’ll have to check Camping World out. Thanks for the heads up. There is a CW an hour away from us so we’ll check them out.
Anytime, I try to help out as much as I can because I also need “Lots” of help!?!?!?!?!?
Happy Trails!!!
