@roger-lila we are heading for Richfield, Utah on the 29th through the 10th of July.. Have been there a couple of times before and the area is super. Staying at Richfield KOA, first time there but owners were quite accommodating. Might pull out sooner if we want to change a bit.

Have not posted in quite awhile but we are still “verticle” just got back from Rocky Point, Mexico mostly a good trip. Left our Az home on the 1st and back on the 5th. Had to purchase Mexican Insurance to cover the rig and truck as our Co does not cover in Mexico. Good thing. The park is very “tight”. When we arrived it was a little tough…[Read more]

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about the scrape. Tail swing can be a tough one in tight parks.

@trackman Have been told it is the most exacting hitch to hook up to but after a few times it get easier. Have a new Montana with the auto level syst and I don’t quite have it down pat yet but the computer will remember the hight of front jacks and put them in that position when hooking up. First time I set up with the thing it has an auto level…[Read more]

We have the Auto-Level (only four) on our Montana and I hear what your saying about the “pucker factor”. After having the Auto Level system, I can’t imagine going back to a manual. I’ve seen different post from people who’ve had trouble with the Auto system, but ours has worked great so far.

Thanks for the info. Next trailer we get might have it and I will be sure to have the level as part of the PDI. Sounds scary and i want someone around that will know about it.

@youper23 Well washed the RV yesterday and now on my way to do some rubber roof maintenance. Will be using Protect All Rubber Roof Cleaner and Rubber Roof Treatment. Will post photos of before and after.

@youper23 Hi Gary, You are correct. As you hook up to the fifth wheel more often it gets easier. I have a Fuzion 325 toy hauler with the Lippert Leveling system. The first few times is a little nerve racking. The more you use it the more confident you become. When you are not on a level service I like to put a board under the low side tires to…

Here are some pictures of what the rig looked like in Williams, Az on Nov 4th. Was on a hunting trip and thought for awhile that I may not get it back to our “nest” in Surprise. Had to sweep about 4″ of snow off roof and broke the broom busting the ice on the slides..

@dmtravis got your note it was quite a trip when we got to Florence Oregon the capture plate on the trailer came loose and bent, called good sams roadside assistance and they sent out a repair service who pressed the plate back into use and advised us to replace the plate. Offered us two choices a Universal Capture Plate (most expensive) and one…[Read more]

Hi Gary… You sure have had quite a trip, what a headache!! Glad you got such a good reaction from your RV dealer. We have the same hitch set up. Haven’t had any problems, hope we don’t! We are in CA for the holidays and so we have some time to deal with the water issue. Would love to see any pics you want to post. Safe travels!

left Mn on Tues am and first night in Sioux Falls, SD. All day in rain and high winds. Tonight in Hermosa, SD, South of Rapid City, good park. Heartland RV park on Hwy 79. Lots of big issues with the rig. Seems there was some rotten osb in br slide that made the rig flex more than normal. Well two weeks later am on the road for Az. Will be…[Read more]

Sounds like an adventure. :) I’m interested Gary, what was the problem?

      • Gary Carlson replied 10 months, 2 weeks ago

Hi Ray In Oregon the capture plate for the super glide hitch, on trailer, came loose and bent. Have Good Sam Roadside Assistance, which is another story, but repair man came out and took the plate to his shop where he put in his press and straightened it so I could make it to his shop. He told me I could buy another plate from super glide or a…[Read more]

          Wow! Tough luck. :(

I’ve never heard of so much going wrong with a hitch, they seem like such a simple device.
Your leak story is just another one to add to the many I’ve heard and why I’m so paranoid on my rig to the point of apply roof repair tape prematurely to all seams. Leaks are the worse thing for an RV, I hope to avoid any.

          If you do…[Read more]

Made it to Mn on the 28th of July and could not unhitch… had to take rig to local RV dealer repair facility in Owatonna, Mn. They told me wrong capture plate was put on in Oregon. They had to order new plate plus the king pin arm on trailer was damaged because of the wrong plate. When they were washing the rig and putting new seals on slides…[Read more]
