We were off to a fun flying start to being full time RVers. We absolutely loved our time at Smokemont campground in The Great Smokey Mountains. Then we headed for Cherokee National Forest using the coordinates we put in on our new GPS. We trusted too much as it was supposed to keep us off unsafe roads for RVs. It didn’t. We ended up on the road…[Read more]

Boondockers 2 months, 1 week agoWe decided to only stay a week in Florida because of the heat. (Although we have full hookups here–one of a very few splurges) Karl wants to see Savanna so we’ll pop up there for a few days then make our way to cooler temps.
Dreaming about full time and reading about Ray and Annie’s adventures kept us working toward that dream.

Hi Larry! 4 days into unplugging the electrical umbilical cord attached from house to RV and going full time. Spent last 3 days boondocking and loving it, although our pace has been fast. We wanted to use our Disney Annual pass which is up in June and before it gets too warm. So, we’re at the SKP club in Florida and we’ll be week at Disney…[Read more]

I found what looks like a pretty good site for $15 and under camping fees FreeCampgrounds.com Hopefully that will add to our boondocking places—which, btw, we take off in 8 days, 17 hrs, but who’s counting. We went ahead and upgraded the truck from a Chevy 1500, which pulled great but we were getting close to our wt limit, to a Chevy 2500HD. It…[Read more]
We’re 36 days (omg! 36 Days!!!) from being full timers . It’s scary and exciting all at once. We’ve lived in the same town over 30 years! We get lost in the grocery store! Lol
The house finally made it onto the market–a few days ago. We’re not expecting it to sell before we head out but it would be nice. We’re going to start off traveling toward…[Read more]

Hi everyone! Karl and I are sort of full time. Parked beside the house and using home electricity since it powers more than the solar. Karl retires April 22nd. WooHoo! Unfortunately, we lost Miss Suki a few weeks ago. She was 14 1/2 years old. It literally broke our hearts. She’ll be going RVing with us in spirit. Hope everyone is staying warm.…[Read more]

Thanks, Lolaand. Each week that passes is a little easier. It’s hardest when one of us is alone all day. We’re hoping when Karl retires and we’re on the road it will go better.

OMG. Sorry to hear about this and glad you are OK. You seem to have a good attitude about it. Got to roll with the punches.
It will make a good story in years to come I’m sure. Best wishes on the repairs. Cheers Ray
Thanks, Ray. Trying to look at the good. A resident in that area said an RV went off the side of the mountain. The Hosts at the actual campsite (we had no other choice but to go forward) said they have begged for someone to put up a warning for RVers. Since it was listed as a good route on our GPS we’re going to notify the company to see if they…[Read more]
