Bought  aking size  bed topper from Cosco for the RV and it works great…my question is do you have to take it off for storage of your RV for the winter? Not sure how you would fold it back up? Will it absorb moisture through the winter months?

Thanks in advance for yor replies.

    Bob,

You didn’t mention what your topper is made of, memory foam perhaps?

Anyway this site suggests getting good air circulation around the mattress and, I assume, toppers.

Good question, I am thinking about what to do with ours.

Our 4inch memory foam topper is my favorite add on. Its like laying in a cloud listening to rain on the roof.

We have a small dehumidifier that works off of some kind of pellets. We keep it in the RV and empty the water every couple of months or so seems to work I’ll try to post a pic. We got it at a local hardware store. It’s small so works well in the RV.. Living on the west coast we get alot of moisture and haven’t had any mold issues so far.

Interesting, I never thought about this when our 5th wheel is in storage. We definitely need to get the dehumidifiers in it. It gets so hot and humid here in the Summer. Thanks for bringing this up?

When you refer to bed topper, do you mean you put this on top of a mattress?  When I bought this rv, it only came with a foam “mattress”, which is queen sized.  I tried jerry-rigging a mattress here, but uncomfortable and heavy, so it is gone.  I am actually more comfortable with the foam.  Wonder if I could just put the memory foam thing on top of what I have.  I try to be cognizant of weight in the RV, but comfort is a definite.

Thanks so much for all of the insight here.
