With the cooler temperatures coming on, and the high cost of propane here, ($34 for 30 lb), electric heat looked like it may be the cheaper route to go. Bought a couple of heaters, and immediately ran into the problem of temperature control, seems it’s either to hot or cold, and if you change the wattage setting, you lose control again.
My solution, an electric baseboard thermostat. These units are rated for 26 amps at 120/240, more than ample for a 1500 watt heater. I made the unit portable so it can be moved where necessary, with hooks that attach it to the sides of the various luggage compartments. Set the heater to the highest setting, and let the thermostat control the power to the heater!
