We have a 2003, Nomad travel trailer. My oven works wonderfully, but the door won’t stay closed. I have to use a ball bungy hooked to the grate on the stove top to keep it tight. Hubby and father have taken it apart and can’t seem to get it fixed. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I have not pulled apart an Rv oven, but they seem the same as a home style oven, and the doors are help closed by a spring on the outside of the oven. You will need to pull the oven out of the hole and then look on both sides of the case of the oven and there will be a lever mech for the door, and a spring to hold it open and closed.

Hope this helps Merry Christmas and Happy Camping

Looking at our Atwood gas oven the spring back mechanism seems to be inside the door itself.

If you can’t fix the hinge, one thought is to maybe use magnets to keep it closed. Usually the ovens and door are made of steel.

Thanks, they did take it apart and reset the spring, it still does not stay closed. I will look for some strong magnets to try.
