Due to hitch arrangements I am towing my 5th wheel out of level; higher in front than rear by about 2″ in 25 feet.

    How will this affect:

    Refrigerator operation while towing?

Axle and tire wear on rear axle?

    Thanks.

Hi Paul, I doubt it would be a problem for the fridge but just FYI we have never towed with the fridge on and never lost any food, fridge stays cold for a long while and the freezer even longer. I just avoid opening the door or do it really quick.

As for the axles and tires. Take the rig and get it weighed on each axle and see if you are overweight on the back axle or tire specs. If not and have a 10-15% safety margin you shouldn’t have a problem. If you get a little tread wear difference you can always rotate them front to back.

Our rig changes front to back and inch or so based solely on whether the fresh water tank located at the back is full or the waste tanks up front are full.

Appreciate the advice, Ray.  Weighing each axle is a sure way of knowing if there is a problem.
