Planning a trip from AR to Charleston,  SC then up the coast to Wilmington,  NC.  Probably taking I 20 East then I 40 thru the Smokies going home.  Would appreciate tips and things to see on the way. Thanks.

PS. how about the Blueridge Parkway, southern portion?

Paul, you might check out http://roadslesstraveled.us/. They traveled through the eastern U.S. last summer and documented the places they went. The Blueridge Parkway in NC and VA was part of that documentation.

    Have a great trip.

Have fun. If you stop around Knoxville,Tn. Take the truck through Cades Cove. Its there at the Smoky Mountain NP. Cool ride through there early or late. Wild life is more active then. If you got your clubs with you then around Myrtle Beach are bunches of beautiful courses. If you just pass through Myrtle then take the bypass 31 back up it to 17. If you stay at Myrtle then Look up Shuckers which is located near uptown Myrtle just south where 501 runs back in 17 business. Its around 3 ave on 17 business in town. Its a small hole in the wall joint but have some good Buffalo shrimp or oysters on the half-shell and they come from the gulf. When u leave Myrtle and head North go 31 north to #9 then right over to 17. Little River is where 31 ends and runs into #9. Then its over to #17 and that’s the road to Wilm.  Have fun.

If you can, try to drive part of the Blue Ride Parkway.  It is a wonderful drive.  Be careful if you have a tall trailer or RV.  There are some short tunnels.

Also go see Gatlinburg TN and the Great Smokey Mountain Nation Park.  We just camped in Pigeon Forge TN at Creek Side (Passport American/Good Sam Club campground)  There is a lot of shopping in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg if you like that.  Also, you have the Great Smokey Mountain National Park for outdoor things.  If you go to Gatlinburg, we drove to the GSMNP Visitor Center and got the tram to Gatlinburg.  Gatlinburg is very tight place with pay to park location.

If you can get in, Just south of Charleston SC is Edisto Beach SC.  This is a do nothing beach that I love.  There is only a few restaurants and one grocery store.  The breakfast of Sea Cow is wonderful.

    Have a great trip!!!
