Here’s picture of a Studio 700 like I have, the machine with the ribber attached, and a Legare sock knitting machine like mine. They are such fun!!
Just getting started in the metalwork, Roger. I plan to start with small jewelry boxes and such.

I have a knitting machine for 20+ years, and still no clue how to use it. I tried to take a class when I bought it but at $60 per hour the woman only chatted with her friends and I didn’t learn anything so after 2-3 classes I quit.
I carry a metal detector in the rig, neat to poke around BLM land with, maybe find a gold nugget one day! I enjoy photography and hiking. Used to golf quite a bit in my younger days, looking to pickup a small set of just a few clubs to carry as well. Got out to a par three course in Palm Springs last winter, it was a blast, they had a special on for Thousand Trail members, 20 bucks for 18 holes.

RVHH Chief Cook and Bottle Washer - LoveYourRV.comWould love to see a pic of the knitting machine if you’ve got one. Is it large? I’ve got a knitting board that I tried to make a scarf on. I’m better at using straight needles.
How long does it take you to finish a pair of socks using the machine? I tried weaving. I like tapestry weaving on a tapestry loom, but using a traditional weaving machine (rigid heddle loom) was too complicated and mechanical for me.
Gail, here’s a video of a guy making a sock in 8.5 minutes. It usually takes me around 10. That’s per sock, lol!
I can make socks on the flatbed too. It takes longer, but with the punchcard system, you can do some snazzy graphics.
Pics of the knitting machines are further up this thread. The flatbed, with the ribber and stand is about 4 feet long and 3 feet deep, so kinda big. The Circular Sock Machine (CSM) takes up far less room, maybe 2 x 2 and it’s less noisy too. Flatbed from the 70’s and CSM from the 20’s!
Weaving is fun, too. I have a few little looms I like to carry around. 1 is a Navaho type and the rest are 2-harness looms…the biggest maybe 24″ and the smallest 10″…very zen when you get the hang of it.

$20 for 18 holes is dirt cheap money! I also have a metal detector. Been trying to find bullets from the Revolutionary War since the largest battle took place 2 miles from my house.
I have never seen a round machine before Norma and didn’t think they made them in the 1920’s, interesting. Maybe some day we will butt and you can teach me. I have never attempted weaving but should.
We are with Ray and his better half, photography and hiking. Well, I like photography, Kaiya loves to hike. I use to crochet a lot, will get into it again some day.
