I have a 2011 keystone sprinter 311bhs, it has 2 slides, first main slide had a problem going out, just got the clicking ratcheting noise so I loosened the bell shaped stop to it 1 turn and it has been doing ok, now the rear bunkhouse is doing the same thing. I loosened the bell stop on it and it still just gave me the clicking noise, had to play with the switch about a half and hour and it finally went out, just wondered if anyone had any ideas on this problem?

Are you slides hydraulic ? If there is a 50 AMP auto reset breaker near the battery. Many of us have replaced them with 80-100 AMP manual audio circuit breakers.
Also check and make sure you have good ground, that is another common problem.
October 5, 2015 at 4:22 pm #16908no they are not hydraulic, motor and gear and some type of clutch I am guessing
October 5, 2015 at 4:37 pm #16910I wonder is maybe its maybe a low voltage problem. Since it is affecting both slides.

Are you hooked up to shore power or are you boondocking?
Like Ray said, sounds like low voltage (could be lose ground too). Make sure your Red Battery Key is turned so it can’t be removed. If you can currently remove the key, the charging power to the battery is off (this is another common problem, don’t ask how I know). The key turns clockwise to turn connect the battery to the trailer, this will allow your convert to charge the battery, (Key cannot be removed when in correct position).
My guess is the clicking sound is a solenoid, due to low battery voltage.
October 7, 2015 at 3:57 am #16979I was plugged in everytime, it has an underbelly covering so I guess I will cut a hole in it so I can try and get a voltage reading, need to learn how to do it manually anyway in case it fails completely I guess

My Cougar never came with a battery disconnect. They ran the positive wire from the battery to a pair of circuit breakers mounted on the storage bay wall. I added my own disconnect switch.
I’ve never looked too close, but the breakers look like an automotive type auto-resetting fuse.
