Can you run the propane furnace in an RV while travelling? The front is kept warm from the dash heater but our RV is cool /cold in the back. We have a 2004 34′ National Sea Breeze with no rear heater. Thanks for any help.

It’s possible, myself I don’t like to run the propane when travelling, just my personal choice, I know some do to keep the fridge cool, not sure about the furnace.  We have a trailer so heat is not a problem. Maybe someone with a Class A or C will suggest an option. Do you have a built in generator?

You may be able to run the generator and use a small electric heater to keep the chill off the rear. Just have to be careful that it is secured and won’t bounce around into something flammable.

I’m not 100% sure about this as I don’t have experience with your type of rig… I’m also not sure how economical that would be as the generator may eat up lots of fuel.

Cold weather RVing is always a challenge. :)

on my class a my a/c over head can blow heat. I havent yet ran the heater on propane while driving  cause we just use the dash heat> Once we stop i then turn the propane heat on cause it takes a few minutes to heat up. I have in the past ran the generator while driving and using the over head a/c unit to to blow heat to just enough to break a chill

Gerry said the generator uses very little fuel.

And thanks for the comments :)

I ran our generator for two days straight and was watching the fuel gauge. We were testing it out on how much it burned. We were surprised the needle did not move. Some times when we are traveling we have the generator running so the wife does laundry.
