We have just bought a 1992 Georgie Boy 34′ motor home, and we are going to make some upgrades. One is removing the 6 gallon water heater and installing a tankless water heater.

Any suggestions? What brand and model is best? How easy it the swap for a first timer?

    Thanks!

We actually thought about doing the same thing on our last rig,,,,,,,,,,,until a fellow mentioned that I needed to be aware of how much water I have onboard and how quickly we might deplete it with all that hot water on demand available.

Not to mention the added propane usage.

In our case we prefer to boondock whenever possible.

I guess it would be great if one is on hookups with unlimited water and I have to admit,I really don’t care for the “navy” showers we all take with the smaller hot water heaters, but until I can carry somewhere around 2000 gallons, lol, onboard,I’m stuck with it.

I am thinking of at least going to a 10 gallon heater if our 6 gallon ever dies.

We actually will be parked for the most part. We’re planted where we are and just downsizing. From what I have read, tankless heaters use less propane since they are not maintaining a constant heat. At any rate, I want to try it.

I’m all for it and hope you’ll share your thoughts on it once you have installed it as I really like the idea.
