Howdy Campers! After 3 years of solid use the “junky” day/night shades fell apart, we replaced them with Roman style shades. These have worked well but do not totally block out the outside sunlight on a hot day. Also when parked at campgrounds people can see in at night. (No one needs to see me in my underwear!)

So I bought a couple of block out curtains from Walmart and split them up to fit all of these small RV windows. Instead of trying to stitch those thick curtains we used fabric heat bond tape called “Stitch Witchery” by Dritz. I know some of you out there are better at seamstress work than I, so sorry for the “Tool Box” fix. This stuff rocks! You cut your material+ 3/4″ to fold over then put the tape in the folded crease between the material and heat with a steam iron. We hung the curtain rods with safety cup hooks up under the original window valances. After one more trip to town we will get some hooks for hold backs and I will make tie-backs out of some dark leather I have laying around.

Not everyone is good with a sewing box, so this is a easy and quick fix for those who need to fit curtains to our odd sized RV windows.

    Happy Trails!!!
