My wife and I are driving down for the first time this coming November.We wanted to know if anyone has suggestions about where to stay while RVing the Baja. Our ultimate destination is Cabo San Lucas. My daughter and her fiancee live in Cabo and have traveled back to BC twice in there truck with no problems, but they never traveled with an RV.
Hi Dale… We haven’t but my parents did over 20 years ago in caravan….. At that time there were cement runners along the road and they hit one which stopped their trip, long story. We have always wanted to do that, but with all the warnings about going into mexico have kinda decided not an option. Hope you have a safe trip, let us know. We are planning on doing the Alaskan highway journey in a caravan…. Seems like a good idea to do the trip with some fellow travelers.
Hi Marsha & Dewey. We chickened out driving there two years ago in the RV. My daughters getting married in Cabo in November, so what we are going to do now is travel from BC to Quartzite AZ and put our trailer in storage there. Travel with the truck down the Baja and see how that goes first. If we feel comfortable after that we may travel down next time with the RV. As off the moment the Baja seems to be fairly safe. Not like the rest of Mexico yet.Vancouver BC seems to have a drug related shooting every day!! Thanks and I’LL keep you informed.

Hi Dale…. Hope you have a great trip down to your daughters wedding, please let us know. We are retiring Feb 2015 we are going to head back to south Dakota to become residence and are planning on the Alaska trip the spring of 2016 or 2017 depends? I’m following a blog of 3 couples traveling together called tails from the highway they went on the Alaska highway this year, they sound like they had a great time. Would love to here about your trip and any tips. Happy travels!
