Can I ask what everyone from Canada uses for medical insurance in Canada? And how much you are paying? Looking for something well known but as well not going to cost us a small fortune. As well, have you ever not bought insurance and had somethign happen to you?

We use Pacific Blue Cross. Last year we paid just under $ 700. We would never travel without it.

can I ask for how many months you get it and your ages? We checked out Blue Cross here and it was very expensive. More than what your paying…  We looked at 4 months and we’re 49 and 54

We have been using BCAA. http://www.bcaa.com/insurance/travel/for-an-individual/individual-travel-insurance-options

We pay around $350 each for 6 months with a $300 dollar deductible. We have never used it yet. One time Anne needed to have something check in the states we went to a clinic it was $150 so not above the deductible.

They say not to use it unless you really have to as once you go in for say a stomach problem, it can become a preexisting condition and they may not cover the second time.

We mainly buy it just in case of a big issue. I would never travel to the US without it.

I’ve had other RVers recommend Medipac to me – http://www.snowbirds.org/medipac-travel-insurance
