Should have used a water filter and ended up with a HW tank full of mineral deposits which fouled the electric element. Oh well gave me something fix! :) I recorded the sound so you’ll know what is going on if you ever hear it.

I had the same problem 3 years ago Ray. Mine sounded like a kettle was boiling in the wall. The element was caked in white mineral deposits. I no sooner got that fixed then a few days later we had a whistling sound every time we used the hot water. That turned out to be a defective check valve on the HW tank.

    Cheers!

    Thanks Ray,

Now whenever we hear a sweet song emanating from our water heater we’ll know just what to do!!

Nancy said that whenever we hear any noises that we can’t identify we will call Ray!!

haha, the weirdest noise I ever had was when visiting Nova Scotia one summer a strange scratching above our heads in bed  would occur every morning about day break. It sounded like a mouse in the ceiling. Anne was like find that and get rid of it right now!!!

Well I looked all over for tell tale signs of mouse droppings but nothing, I even ripped apart the head board area and had a peek in there, Nothing!

Finally one morning I spied the cause. The Maritimes in the summer had a lot of bugs and during travel the front of the fifth wheel had quite the coating of squished bugs. Seems early in the morning these little birds would show up to feast on the dad bugs and made the noises.
