Here is a post detailing yearly maintenance on my hot water heater. This year the crud was not to bad but I still replaced the anode and electric element with fresh units. Cheers Ray

LoveYourRV.comI love this! Mine is an Atwood instead of a Suburban, so no anode rod. More important, I think, to keep it cleaned out!
Going to add the Camco thingy to add electrical capabilities to the heater, so even MORE important to keep it clean. It’s just me, but the water quality where I’ll be isn’t the greatest, so I’m assuming more calcium and such.
