Just completed a review of this gem of a park on the east coast of Vancouver Island in Campbell River, BC

Looks like a really nice place to chill. Is there anything like tidepools in the area?

Yes, just down the highway about 10 miles or so there is a nice section of beaches with some good tide pools. One of my favorite spots is Miracle Beach.

They have some decent tide pools but the best ones are located on the west side of Vancouver Island where they get the big surf from the Pacific Ocean.

We don’t have any fishing gear or licences so not doing any fishing. Lots of people are catching salmon though , they are having big return runs this year. One local guide said there are so many returning upstream they are having to cull them because they are depleting the oxygen levels in the river.

Anne just likes to cruise around and explore things and watch the wildlife. She had a pod of dolphins follow her around and ride her wake one night. Made her summer. :)

I’ll be doing a post soon with photos and video clip of a evening boat trip we took last week. No dolphins or whales but some sights and sounds from out on the waters here.
