We have a 2006 Cardinal 5th Wheel. The privacy shades are all in disrepair, and most are just a greasy stained mess. Plain and simple, they need to go.

With this cold front that has descended on us for the past few days, I now see the need for window treatments that will help insulate against the cold of winter.

Does anyone have advise for changing out the shades, that can be done on a shoestring budget?

I’m pretty handy with tools and a sewing machine.

    Thanks,

I think I’m going to do Roman shades, Jeannine.  Tons of pins on Pinterest on how to do them with old mini blinds.  This one is a really good one, but she used fabric glue instead of sewing and she didn’t line them.  I’m going to line mine with blackout material and some batting.  With bubblewrap on the windows, that ought to be plenty.

Thanks Norma for the link. I do like the look. I don’t have the mini-blinds, but I’m sure there’s ways around that issue. I’ll try and upload a few pictures of my blinds soon.

I’m wondering about the Goodwill store for the blinds…possibly Craigslist.  Ebay might have some used ones.  I only have two in my rig…the smallest windows in the livingroom slide.  The big windows all have the normal privacy shades.  1990’s teal.  Yum!

Great minds think a like Norma. There is a thrift store not far from the RV park we just moved into.  I’m making a trip there on Monday.  I’ll let you know what my digging turns up.

Yes, please!  I’m not quite to this point yet, so I’ll be avidly following your progress.

    Hey Norma.

Ive seen the pins and I think it would be great look.  Be easy to get the right window size.  What is your main color elsewhere in Lurch?  Use it as a  blind color.  Please post after pics with what you do.  Good luck!

Look what I found!  These are super cute!!  I’d make mine full length with some thermal goodness inside, but otherwise…fabulous!  Link.
