My description was a little sketchy, so I made a sketch and scanned it.

Hay Ray and Roger, I like your idea! The only reason I used a second 12v pump was because we had one to spare, and also it saves ware and tare on the house pump.

I think i’m going steal your idea and MOD it and put a tee in the suction hose at the main house 12v pump and hook-up the supply/pressure hose from the transfer pump to it. Also put a ball valve at tee to turn off transfer pump when loading is done.

    Happy Trails!!!

If you have a winterize kit, you already have the T, Eddie. Hook your transfer pump to the winterize T and open both valves, gives you a straight path to tank.

Roger, not so lucky! This 5er was not set-up out of the factory for a winterizing kit, in a short order we have replaced most of the fresh water system.(Leaking fittings, kinked pex pipe, replaced piping mounted close to the outside sub-floor “Frozen Pipes”.)

I guess you get what you pay for or change it to suit you. Aileen gets nervous when I get a “Wild Idea” and pull out the tool bags!

    Happy Trails!!!

I’m more for the change to suit yourself. Nothing like having an intimate knowledge of your house. So, what you’re saying, is that you have all the tools and probably materials on hand? Like me, you have pex crimper, clamps, emergency fittings assortment? I prefer the brass fittings, they don’t seem to collapse like the plastic ones.

Saw these at Lee Valley today, they are deginated food safe in the EU. Not quite as nice as Ray’s bladders, but quite bit easier to handle and much cheaper.

Hey! I don’t say anything when you go to Camping World! I have to change countries to do that, or order online and pay brokerage fees!

The water bags are much cheaper, but, you would have to make some kind of adapter as they have a cap and a sprinkler cap, no hose adapter. Extremely compact when empty, though.

Hay Roger, Yes I have my PEX  3/4″ and  1/2″ crimping tools + all sorts of brass fittings ( Brass is the only way to go!!!)and PEX valves. I once upon a time had a heating & plumbing Co. here in Wyoming before fall 2008 and a broken leg ate the business.

The plus is lots of left-over supply’s to dig in for repairs and mods. I made a load combo box for the solar panel wires in the lower compartment out of  a electric heatstrip kit wiring load center.

    Happy Trails!!!
