Ok, getting ready to do the kitchen sink faucet and I’ve come to realize…I’m going to have to pull the entire sink out to get to the faucet connections. AGH! So my question is…does the sink just fit there in the hole or are there clips or something?
I already know I’m going to have to unhook the drain and all that funness… The sink is blocking access to the cold water side of the faucet. I could buy the special tool, but then Nancy ( @bobandnancy ) wouldn’t let me keep it anyway, for no more than I would need it.
I will post before, after and maybe some during pics when I get finished. I’m sure it will be edge-of-your-seat exciting!

Normally you can just take the nuts holding down the faucet, and lift the faucet out enough to disconnect the water lines.
They also make some special tools that will reach the nuts on the faucet.

Can’t get to the cold water one, John. Maybe an inch front/back clearance. Can’t even see the thing since my cabinet is so small. The inverter is mounted below that so not much room to get in there.

Oooo! That might work! @bobandnancy will just have to forgive one more tool! I’m getting one. I reeeeeeeeeeeallly don’t want to have to take the sink loose! Thanks!!!

Okay, okay!! Ya know, when I was younger, thinner and more flexible, I thought the same way!
I’m gonna get John’s tool and give it a go. If that doesn’t work, I’m packing up to bring it up there and YOU can get it out! lol!!!
O wait, supposed to be 70 degrees this week here…nevermind…

January 24, 2015 at 8:45 pm #8655The other reason you don’t want to remove your sink is that it “should” be siliconed to the counter, prevents spilled water from running into the cabinets. Depending on how the sink cutout was done, there may be counter material under the taps, so taking the sink out becomes impossible without removing the nuts.
As long as you can get here by next Sunday, you’re more than welcome! By the way, our warm spell ends this Monday, temps are supposed to slide into the toilet by next weekend. To bad, the fields were starting to become bare.
