Cutoff valve was easy peasy to install.  Lurch has hot/cold running water again.  And now that I know where the water heater bypass is, the new electric mod actually DID make hot water in about 20 minutes!  Yippee!

Amazon LOVES me.  A day early!!  Probably gonna wait until the weekend to install, because once you pull the toilet…hahahahah…

And how come nobody told me it was going to come with a new wax seal???   I can’t keep the one I ordered because by the time I need it, it’ll be no good, or (probably) I won’t be able to find it!!!

We couldn’t tell you it came with a wax seal. It was top secret and you don’t have the proper security clearance. The wax seal should last a long time. Get a small plastic tote and put all your spare parts in it. wax seal. light bulbs screws bolts so forth

Well put me in for an security upgrade, cuz I NTK these things!!

My “small plastic tote” is four large plastic totes full of project materials like backup camera system, digital TV antenna, foam for window insulation, etc, etc, etc…..good thing I have storage still!

Remember, I have a class C, James…not an awful lot of room like you rich class A people….

I cheated in my old motorhome. Yarded out the old green toilet (1978) and put a new one in. No problems after that!

Rhetorical question, why do they make the toilets so high? I have a 3″ foam block so I can put my feet flat!

hahaha…Roger, I can see you slinging it out the door!!  Avocado green, if I recall…lol!

Rhetorical comment.  I have the opposite trouble.  Mine’s so short, my knees give out before I can “assume the position!”

Well, I’m sitting here, taking a break, feeling like a dork….  Got the toilet out, no problem!  Had to stop and clean the bejeebers out of it, though.  Had I known how easy it was to take out, I would have done that before anything else!  Yuk!

Took the old valve out, put new one in.  Reattached hoses with the toilet still out, so I could see what I was doing.  NEW hose, btw.   Put the toilet back down, snugged the bolts til it didn’t rock anymore.  Sat back, so freaking proud of myself….looked over, and there was the flange.  On the floor.  Smiling at me.  :x

All righty then!  Got the flange in and everything snugged down, turned on the water and YAY!!!  No leaks and the flushing action is just what it’s supposed to be.  It actually washes down the sides of the bowl like a new one.

Then I went to put the seat and lid back on.  There’s not enough room behind the toilet to get the little tabs back on the toilet at the right angle.  Dang! Gonna have to pull it up a little to get them back on.  Crap!

I have learned SOOOOO many things on this little job….lol!  Better write ‘em down in the Lurch book so I can remember next time….

    LOL!!!

Now you know why you have TWO flange seals! The gods knew you would need them!

Sue says you do entertain us, she loves the way you write, it’s good that you can laugh at yourself. We nominate you as the Irma Bombeck of RV Happy Hour!
