Handy little device we picked up last year is the Wilson Sleek Cell Booster.

I’m using it today in fact, as the campsite we are in is just on the fringe of cell connectivity. The booster has turned our signal strength from very frustrating and barely a connection to pretty usable one.

I heard there is a new law though, that the FCC is making folks with cell boosters register the device with the carrier. Will look into this and report back here when I figure it out. Anyone else registered there cell amps/boosters?

Ray, The link below has the information on it from Verizon. I have heard of registering cell phone boosters

They introduced that after I bought it. Not sure if I’m grandfathered or have to register it. Sort of vague language like they want me to register but not saying I absolutely have to, they recommend that I do.

Verizon also tentatively approves the use of consumer signal boosters currently in operation that do not meet the new network protection standards. This approval is provided only for the boosters not causing interference and will be revoked if the particular booster or booster model is found to cause interference issues. To help avoid possible interference issues, however, Verizon recommends that customers who need signal boosters replace existing boosters as soon as possible with consumer signal boosters that meet the new network protection standards.
