Having traveled for 3 months in our RV seemed to create some unusual issues for my husband’s back.  At first he noticed some pain and as each week came and went, the pain got worse and he began having issues walking and sleeping and even driving.   Our son was telling us that he had talked to numerous truckers who said they had to replace their truck seats with a different seat because of severe back issues.  Have any of you heard of this or had any issues?  And if you replaced your seat, what kind of seat did you replace it with?

If you go to a large truckstop. example Iowa 80 truckstop one that sells chrome all sorts of goodies for truck drivers you will see seats for sale. The seats in a 18 wheeler are air ride, meaning so they can be adjusted more. Prices are high in my opinion but when it comes to back problems there is no such thing as high if it works. There is a brand name that has good seats I will research it for you I forgot the name off hand. When I drove a truck  I had one of their seats and it was the best ever. A cheap way to go and they work is first try those covers that are wooden beads. They actually work well for me. You can find those wood beads thingies at basically all truck stops. When I first seen them I was like how can sitting on wood beads be comfortable. I bought one and used it for over a year till I upgraded to a better seat.

Hi Jan,  I do two things to avoid back and leg problems.  First, if I am not being too goal oriented, I stop frequently and walk around, stretch, etc.  If I know it is going to be a long haul, I sit on a 12v vibrator/massager back and seat pad.  My wife, who has back problems, uses a heat/massage one all the time when in the RV.

They are also welcomed when setup for the night and could use a little loosening up.
