This section of the forum is for helping each other out with our RV related problems. Post your question and hopefully some veteran RVer has the answer.

AnonymousCheers: 0I am considering replacing the funky headed screws to my access panels…as in the one inside my cargo bay, Cougar 5th. with Philips headed screws..anyone else done this?
November 17, 2013 at 8:02 am #890Hi Kathy, I’m not sure which screws you mean. Almost all the screws on mine are Robertson type heads.

Could you post a photo of them?

AnonymousCheers: 0Mine are more of a swastika type head, when I’m back home next week I’ll try to post a pic, I just hate having to buy special bit ends all the time. And a manual screw driver sometimes is all that you can access a screw with. Just would make my life easier seeing as how I’m the one who will need to be doing anything to the rig.
November 18, 2013 at 10:05 am #909Oh, I see, they may be what they call a tamper proof screw. There are many funky unique heads out there. I have a tamper proof bit set like this. Comes with many of the tamper proof type bits and regular styles in a nice little case.
Not sure if it has your style but you could check places like Home Depot and Lowes.

April 23, 2014 at 5:38 pm #2182Hi Robin, you may try Ebay, sometimes I’ve found stuff there that is hard to find. Also a local plastics shop may be able to cut one out for you and smooth the edges.
What model is the trailer?
RVHH Chief Cook and Bottle Washer - LoveYourRV.comApril 23, 2014 at 6:03 pm #2185Hi..its a Shasta travel trailer…plastic shop??? the one i have needs to be made smaller.
April 23, 2014 at 6:14 pm #2186Ya, a plastics shop usually has the know how and tools to trim and cut plastic properly.
This is an example of a place I’ve used in the past for custom plastic work.

RVHH Chief Cook and Bottle Washer - LoveYourRV.comApril 23, 2014 at 6:50 pm #2188Thanks..i guess a plastic shop is a guy thing hahaha
April 24, 2014 at 1:15 pm #2196It must be, robin…I’ve never heard of one either, lol! You might find a small cutting board that would fit. Did you check Camping World?

April 24, 2014 at 2:51 pm #2198Hi Norma,
Thanks.. yes we did…i think the easiest solution at this point is to just buy a regular ole cutting board to put over once we are settled. The left side has a cover that fits so not too big of a deal.
June 17, 2014 at 5:50 pm #4370I was wondering if anyone has a olevia TV? We are having an issue with getting the TV to auto scan, cable and air channels!! We can’t find a place in the USA to talk to, only China! We do have a warranty, but I think it’s something simple. I hope.
June 17, 2014 at 6:28 pm #4372Marsha, what is the model number? I’ll see what I can find out. I was a TV repairman for 25 years before we hit the road. Still have some contacts and might be able to help you out with info.
RVHH Chief Cook and Bottle Washer - LoveYourRV.comSeptember 3, 2014 at 3:04 am #5939I use a cpap while sleeping. Convenient when we are hooked up to power but if we are going to boondock some if I don’t have power from generator I guess I have to do something to get power to it. This is where I’m not familiar with electrical setups on RV. I’m dumb but willing to learn. I have the 280RLS Cougar. Can I use the batteries somehow to run it. Would I have to install an inverter to run a separate outlet for power. Help Please.
We are retired as of July 1st. 2015.
