RVHH Chief Cook and Bottle Washer - LoveYourRV.comJune 2, 2014 at 7:49 am #3911Hi Ray, If it’s ok with the group I am going to try and make a small banner using the logo . If I can get rip nylon, or parachute nylon in white & the right kind of fabric paint I will make one up. When I made these up before for anther camping group I got the fabric paint at The Flag Shop in Victoria. I will be checking it out this week to see if I can get some. Regular fabric paint runs when used on nylon.
June 2, 2014 at 7:57 am #3912Certainly Lauren, sounds interesting. how do you apply it with a brush?

June 3, 2014 at 4:44 pm #3945Ray I have used a brush but that is very time consuming so I want to try using a fabric transfer.
June 3, 2014 at 5:28 pm #3948I think I’m gonna try making one too. Only sewing, though…or maybe knitting.

I don’t think I could paint one.

June 17, 2014 at 4:45 pm #4365Well the car flag looks pretty good graphics wise, I like it.
The only bad part is being white and having two sides, if it has back light it sort of looks weird because the other side shows through. There are two panels so I guess it could be opened up and another piece inserted to block light and sewed back up again.

RVHH Chief Cook and Bottle Washer - LoveYourRV.comJune 17, 2014 at 4:54 pm #4368Ya looks a bit weird. Mfg. should have some suggestion to correct this?
June 17, 2014 at 5:45 pm #4369
AnonymousMaybe a design that looks the same from both sides? That is probably why you never see lettering on flags?
June 17, 2014 at 5:56 pm #4371Hey Roger , you would think that but look at there own selection.

I send in a contact question about, see what they say.
RVHH Chief Cook and Bottle Washer - LoveYourRV.comJune 17, 2014 at 6:51 pm #4375I’d like to see a knitted flag!

AnonymousWhat I was referring to was things like country, state and province flags. All of these are geometric graphics or artwork without lettering.
Having two layers of cloth and the large edge seam, it doesn’t flap like a flag. A third layer would make it worse. You wouldn’t even need a wind to make it stand straight!

I’m not complaining, and I’m still putting mine on the flagpole at our new place.
June 18, 2014 at 8:01 am #4395I guess the car flags need to be firmer as they take lots of wind speed while driving.
Been looking on line and there are a boat load of flags for Sports/College stuff. In the US college sports is massive and there are lots of writing on the flags. So they make them to look right on both sides with a third inside panel.
Here is an example – Virginia Tech Double-Sided 3×5 Flag
In the description is says
- Double-Sided and Printed Logos are Readable Correctly on Both Sides
- 3-Ply Polyester Material with Sewn-In Liner between Sides
- 3’x5′ in Size with Sturdy Metal Grommets and Quad-Stitched Flyends
- Identical Flag as flown over the College Football Hall of Fame
- Officially Licensed by Virginia Tech
And a reviewer states:
We are so happy with this flag we are buying a second flag to fly at the weekend house.
This 3 ply flag shows great in full sun light on both sides. No print bleed thru.RVHH Chief Cook and Bottle Washer - LoveYourRV.comJune 18, 2014 at 10:39 am #4428Like most anything new, I let other people deal with the “bugs” and then I order one. So let me know when you guys have all the “bugs” worked out! – Nancy
